Oct 31 – Noon Update

Sat Oct 31- EP Problems 11:20 AM

A brown out on campus has impacted some systems. As a result a DNS server, EPortfolio, and a streaming server have been affected. EPortfolio performance has been disrupting users in different ways. Some are experiencing slowness while others are unable to access it. We are working on resolving the issue right now and expect to have all systems back working very shortly.

We will provide an update once systems are resolved.

File Access Problems

We are currently experiencing a system problem which is affecting access to files on both Dragon and WesFiles for many users. We are working aggressively to solve this problem. I will continue to keep you posted.

Oct 6 – Heat and hot water outage

As part of the ongoing campus wide electrical system upgrade project the Central Power Plant will be shutdown from 3:30 AM to 6:00 AM on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. The result is that there will be no steam available during this shutdown. This means that heat and hot water campus wide, with the exception of wood frame buildings, and steam used in the sciences and at Usdan will be interrupted. If you have questions or concerns regarding this outage, please contact Alan Rubacha at extension 3746, or arubacha@wesleyan.edu. There will be no impact to electrical power or lighting in any buildings other than the power plant.

Sep 28 – Phone Outage

We are currently experiencing difficulties with the phone system. Several phones are out of service. It is being worked on and we hope to have it resolved shortly. We apologize for the inconvenience.

WesFiles update – Sep 16

We have been able to localize the WesFiles troubles and have been working with the vendor on the final resolution. In the meantime, the system has been stabilized and has been up consistently for 2 days. We do not anticipate further outages. Of course, if anything changes, we will notify you.

WesFiles access problems – Sep 14

We have been experiencing intermittent performance issues with Wesfiles since Saturday 9/12. Users are occasionally having problems logging in and/or losing their Xythos driving mapping. We are pursuing the issue with the vendor to get it resolved. When users are connected, Wesfiles is performing as expected and files can be uploaded and downloaded. We will continue to keep you posted as we get this issue resolved.

Fri, Aug 28-Telephone Maintenance
