After considerable research, ITS believes that a DOS (Denial of Service) attack caused the Internet outage that occurred from 10:50PM to 2:30AM. These kinds of attacks are notoriously difficult to prevent. ITS is working to determine ways to address such issues more quickly to reduce downtime should they recur.
