ITS System Announcements

The phone system is now operational. The technicians are doing some fine tuning to adjust some display issues. There may be a brief interruption again prior to 1:00 PM while the technicians complete this work. If you continue to have trouble after 1:30 PM, please call WesTel at 685-2022.

Some phone service has been restored. The replacement power supply for the phone system is expected to arrive at 11 AM. Full phone service will be back online shortly thereafter.

Beginning at 4:30 pm on Monday, August 23, there were power outages that affected various parts of the campus. These outages were more prevalent than previously understood. While the data center remained online and no services were interrupted, some areas may have experienced outages to switches which would have interrupted communication.

Dragon will be offline for system maintenance this evening, Friday, August 20, from 10PM – 6AM. This is the only system affected by this maintenance. Files stored on Dragon will not be available during this time. Thank you.

The maintenance on August 14 went quite a bit beyond the scheduled window. While ITS planned for extra time and performed preparatory steps, there were issues that were beyond our control. We brought services back online as quickly as we were able. We know an extended interruption is inconvenient and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Reminder: Tomorrow, August 14, from 9AM to Noon, there will be maintenance on IT systems. Services including WFS, EPortfolio, Blackboard, and Wesfiles will be offline during this maintenance. Thank you, Karen Warren

On Saturday, August 14 from 9AM to 12 Noon, ITS will be performing system maintenance that will have intermittent impact on all major services including email, EPortfolio, Wesfiles, and WFS. ITS encountered several unforeseen problems during the emergency maintenance and many services were interrupted for extended periods. We have been working through the night to recover them and expect to have most or all service up in the next few hours. Unfortunately desktop backups were affected and did not occur overnight as scheduled.

We are continuing to work on system problems. Some services have been intermittent. We are working on restoring key services to function for open of business on Friday, June 25. A follow up notice will be forthcoming.

ITS needs to perform urgent system maintenance at 10PM tonight, June 24th. This process is generally non-disruptive. However, should there be unanticipated problems, many central ITS services including the web server, some email, Dragon, and WFS would be affected. Again we do not expect this to be the case.
